Franchising advice for the taking
If you are considering taking on a franchise, prepare to be like a kid in a candy shop at these major upcoming franchise exhibitions.
First up on the franchise event calendar is the Surrey M25 Franchise Show, which will be held for the first time at Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher on Saturday, 4 September. The event will showcase more than 35 franchise and business opportunities, all with licences for sale for towns in the immediate Surrey, Middlesex and North Sussex areas and throughout the South of England. Running from 9.30am-4pm, the event will also feature several specialist franchising seminars that will be free to the public.
The event is a ‘sister’ to the recent Thames Valley event held in Reading, which attracted over 600 visitors, as well as the Great Western Franchise Show being held at Bristol City Football Club on Saturday, 13 November, and the MKM1 Franchise Show at Milton Keynes Football Club on Saturday, 22 January, 2011.
Mark Monument, the show organiser, explains: “Visitors will find at our Surrey show just about every industry sector imaginable – IT, White Collar, Handyman, Sport and Leisure, Business Services, and Retail plus some part time franchises which are tailor-made for Mums looking to juggle self employment with family life.”
Meanwhile, two-day franchise exhibition The Franchise Show will be held at London’s Excel on Friday, 18 February and Saturday, 19 February, 2011. With hundreds of exhibitors, presentations from industry experts, and opportunities for one-to-one advice, the event offers a wealth of information for people interested in becoming a franchisee, those looking to franchise their business, and franchisors. The event will run from 10am-7.30pm on the Friday, and 10am-4pm on the Saturday.
